Liverpool Lifehouse is a partnership between Liverpool City Council and Liverpool Community Health that offers a range of disability services under one roof, in a fully accessible building. The centre provides Wheelchair Services, Moving and Handling Teams, Falls Teams, Adaptations Services, Telecare Services, Counseling and a Disability Living Centre
Cube acted for North West Industrial Estates Ltd, who undertook the specialist conversion of the former warehouse building on the Liverpool waterfront to facilitate the PCT’s ‘bespoke’ requirements.
The project facilitated the relocation of a number of satellite PCT operators into a large open plan warehouse incorporating new administration offices.
The project involved the adaption of an existing warehouse, which included a new mezzanine floor of 1500 square meters to provide additional floor space for offices and display suites.
The converted warehouse area was designed with special consideration given to the large number of disabled people visiting the centre requiring access to both floors and the external approaches.
Cube's role involved pre contract advice, liaison with both legal teams on the lease agreement, design and specification of the works. Cube were appointed to carry out project management and contract administration, working closely with the PCT as the building end user, ensuring that their design brief was strictly adhered to and completed on time and within budget.
Project Value: £2.5m
