08/12/2011 Climb every mountain.

Every year Cube support Arthritis Research UK, a charity leading the fight against arthritis in children.  Around 12,000 under 16’s in the UK have a form of arthritis and the effects can be debilitating and very difficult for a child and their family to cope with.

In 2010, Stuart Prescott, a director of Cube set up a challenge with friends and business colleagues to brave the National Three Peaks Challenge, which involves climbing the three highest mountains in England, Wales and Scotland within 24 hours.

The weather was shocking; heavy rain and very windy.  Snowdon was risky and although warnings were issued to avoid the climb, the thought of not completing the challenge and raising the much needed money played a big part in the team overcoming any reservations. "Luckily a year of hard training stood us all in good stead and steely determination prevailed!" Stuart said.

Our initial target was to raise £2,000, but the generous support from clients, contractors, friends and family meant that we raised £10,000.  The charity relies on such donations to fund high class research, distribute information and to run campaigns, all instrumental in providing better treatment and making a difference to those children suffering from such a painful condition.
